It will forever remain a mystery how and why it happened.

But one day - for once a slow and quiet one on both sides of the universe - while Jess was busy doing a maintenance check-up in the ARC and Chloe filled in a few missing pieces of Destiny's database, a small - about the size of a water melon - but stable anomaly formed, in a room down the corridor aboard Destiny and in a storage closet in the ARC.

The following hours were filled with heated discussions, hectic planning and finally the decision to send through a Kino from Destiny's side and a remote camera from the ARC.

Surprise to see the Icarus team mixed with a feeling of great relief to finally have a connection with Earth, and after Lester contacted the SGC and Gen. O'Neill visited the ARC, the anomaly was declared to be safe and used as a mini-wormhole.

From that day on, twice a week a list with things the crew of Destiny wanted was sent through and a few hours later the items were delivered. Suddenly the journey home no longer looked so bleak anymore.

Chloe and Jess thought up a daily girl talk via Kino/camera which became quite popular with not only the female members of Destiny but the female personnel of the ARC as well, Rush and Lester discovered their shared love for chess, and Col. Young and Becker liked nothing more than to talk (big) weapons.

And then Eli and Connor had that brilliant idea...

"Everyone ready?"

Cheers and laughter echo through the room and Col. Young, grinning himself, turns to the head display where the Kino-feed from Earth is showing the break room of the ARC.

"You over there, too?"

A handful of popcorn hits the camera of the Kino and the room breaks into another round of laughter and clapping, joined by the people on the screen.

"C'mon, let's start already!"

Col. Young's hand hovers over the switch and he makes eye contact with Connor, who's in charge of the switch over at the ARC, and nods.

"On my mark. One...two...three!"

The rooms darken, the screens light up and the opening credits of Wormhole X-treme - The Movie appear.

Movie night is on.

- The End -

And the second prompt "The Future" was turned into a mini-picspam:
